The second I met Mary (and then Robert a couple of days later) I just completely loved them! They were so relaxed, enthusiastic and I loved the ideas they had for their DIY wedding day and my god did it meet expectations!!

Whilst the rest of the country was seemingly being battered by Storm Babet, the areas around Northampton seemingly had a shower and then cleared for us to have the most bloody wonderful wedding day. This wedding took DIY to the ultimate level - all the decor was made by the couple, cakes made by family and friends; even some of the flowers were grown in one of the bridesmaid's gardens. If that's not enough the groom (with help of the best man and family & friends) even catered the wedding - and it was bloody delicious! Robert, I need the recipe for that lamb!

Whilst I spent the morning with Mary and the ladies getting ready whilst watching and quoting Pretty Woman; Tish was with Robert and the boys getting ready before heading for a cheeky coffee. We all gathered at the beautiful Northampton Guild Hall for a very tear-filled ceremony. Having both written their own promises to each other it had everyone (including me and the registrar) in tears. Once all the formalities were done we headed onto the streets of Northampton for confetti, some epic group shots and a little town centre walk for portraits before heading to the village hall with a slight detour to the location of their engagement. For someone who loves both country and city weddings this gave me the opportunity to flex aaaall this creative muscles.

They had done an awesome job of preparing the village hall for the reception with banqueting tables - a personal favourite of mine - gorgeous decor, Top Gun themed table names, personalised napkins and a sky full of fairy lights. Sometimes you attend a wedding that absolutely screams a couple and this wedding couldn't have shouted Mary and Robert anymore!!

I simply loved this wedding and spent the whole day smiling and having a lovely time. Have a look through their preview below for just how gorgeous it was!

A special shout out to my lovely buddy Tish who photographed Robert and the boys in the morning and second shot with me throughout the day.
